EMILY CRESS
FRONT ENSEMBLE Instructor

Emily is a zealous percussionist of over a decade and a proud alum of VBHS. They have left their mark as a former member of the Fighting Indians Band and as a founding member of Nemesis Winds. Notably, Emily's talent and dedication earned them the prestigious John Philip Sousa Award in 2019. Their musical journey has afforded them the opportunity to perform alongside a myriad of remarkable ensembles over the years. Of late, they have recorded with artist Misty Island for the project's debut album. Now, embarking on their first season with the marching band, Emily is committed to helping students discover their musical potential.


Coonce

Amy Coonce
Brass Instructor

Ms. Coonce earned her Bachelor’s degree in music education from Stetson University, her Master’s from Bowling Green University and is currently working on her PhD in Education Sciences at Florida State University. Ms. Coonce is currently the AP Art teacher at the VBHS main campus and serves as the tuba/sousaphone instructor and marching tech for the VBHS band.


Daige

Annora M. Daige
Brass Instructor

Annora Daige is a Florida Native and a product of the Pride of the Treasure
Coast. She holds a Bachelor's Degree from UCF and a Master's Degree from
USF, both in Trumpet Performance.
Annora performs on her trumpet locally and throughout Florida. She has had
the privilege of playing throughout the country as well as overseas. In
addition to working with the High School Band, Annora also teaches for an
after school music program at First Presbyterian Church and with Oslo and
Gifford Middle Schools Band programs teaching brass fundamentals.


Escobar

Oscar Escobar
Marching Instructor

Mr. Escobar has been teaching marching bands for over 20 years. He was a member of the Boston Crusader Drum and Bugle Corps from 1998 to 2000. Mr. Escobar was also on the teaching staff with the 2002 Division 2 World Champion Magic of Orlando drum and bugle Corps. This will be Mr. Escobar’s third year as the Visual Caption Head with the Vero Beach Fighting Indians Marching Band.

lAUREN kINSLEY
Color Guard Instructor

Lauren Kinsley is a 2022 graduate of Sebastian River High School. She was a member of the Marching Sharks and The Pride of Sebastian River. Lauren was also a member of the SRHS Winter Guard where she served in leadership roles.  She competed in both the FFCC circuits and WGI in Dayton, Ohio where she placed 12th in the nation with her team.  Lauren is passionate about Colorguard and loves teaching others.  This is her first year working with the VBHS Fighting Indians.  She is excited and looking forward to this season.


Dylan Summerall
Percussion Instructor

Dylan Summerall is a percussion instructor and alumnus of the Vero Beach Fighting Indians Marching Band. Over the years, he has gained valuable information and teaching strategies from many great teachers. He has taken his love for the marching arts professionally, marching for DCI and WGI. Mr. Summerall was a member of Heat Wave Drum and Bugle Corps in 2019 and also Infinity 3 in 2023.
